King Charles III unveils opera house curtains

King Charles attended a special Spring Gala at London's Royal Opera House to unveil magnificent new main stage curtains featuring his personal royal cypher. Made of deep red mohair velour, the grand drapes replace the previous set, which bore Queen Elizabeth II's initials and weathered over 10,000 performances across 27 years.
Crafted by the Royal School of Needlework and Gerriets, the historic commission reflects a major investment in the future of the Covent Garden venue.
